Ione customers May Notice Temporary Changes in Taste, Odor, or Color

AWA will transition the Ione Water Treatment Plant from its Hydro Line source to the Ione Reservoir source to install a new valve. This valve will allow operators  to by-pass the reservoir for events such as the annual turnover of the reservoir which causes the taste and odor issue.  The switch in source is scheduled for Monday, August 24th and will be switched back by end of day once the valve has been replaced.  As a result, some customers may notice temporary change in water taste, odor, or color. Treatment staff have adjusted operations to minimize these effects.  While these aesthetic changes may be noticeable, the water remains safe to drink and continues to meet all drinking water standards.
